Trust is something that is earned. I don't think anyone can demand my trust. In order for me to trust someone I must spend time with that person, learn who he/she is - really, and know that he/she has a good heart.
When my wife and I began to date she didn't know if she could trust me. She had no idea if I was a good person or if I had her best interest at heart. She had no idea that I would eventually be able to lay down my life to save her life. After many years of marriage, I have no doubt that my wife trusts me to love her, to be honest with her, and to, if needed, give my life for her. That trust has been earned with years of love, dedication, and faithfulness.
Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; think about Him in all your ways, and He will guide you on the right paths." (HCSB) When the Bible instructs us to "trust in the Lord" it knows that GOD always loves us and always has our best interests at heart. The GOD of the universe has already demonstrated that He is willing to give his life for us - He did! Our trust of GOD has been earned. John 3:16-17 tells us that GOD loved us so much that He gave the most important thing to help us: part of Himself. It also tells us that Jesus didn't come to condemn us but to save us. He gave everything for us and throughout human history we continually see how the Almighty has reached down to try and pull us back to Himself when we stray far away. All because he loves us and wants the best for us.
Brandon Coker, Heath Baltzglier, and Steve Fee, penned a song titled Trust It All, in which they say, "My life is in Your hands, I trust it all...to You. My dreams and all my plans, I trust it all...to You. Forever I'm changed, I'll never be the same because of Your love."
My friends, trust your life to Jesus and you will not be disappointed. Let GOD define your dreams and plans. When you do that, your life will be changed; you will never be the same. GOD is loving, compassionate, giving, and trustworthy. He will not let you down.
